NB: For some reason the clock seems off. I'll have to look into that too. (The clock that is noting the time entries were made.)

After a bunch upon a bunch of more reading; still no fix, so I'm going to temporarilly disable this security feature, to see if there are any new registrants......
  • sme26Mon Mar 11, 2019 5:21 pm
Well, I've checked now (had to turn off some security software I don't know how to control perfectly well just yet); and now that I've been into the ACP (administrative control panel), I can see there has been no new signups as of 03-11, 1:20pm.
  • sme26Mon Mar 11, 2019 5:22 pm
I'm going to run some tests now. This will involve turning that security software back on; and testing-out the signups process.
  • sme26Tue Mar 12, 2019 10:30 pm
The problem with logging-in to the ACP with the 'Wordfence' software blocking admin access, is still ongoing. I am still working around that manually, and hope to find a fix; else I'll turn it off, do what admin stuff i need to, then turn it back on (as before). Woohooo! Vesna signed-up!

In case anyone is reading these chat posts: Today being Sunday, March 17, I am going to take the time to sort out a number of IT issues, including ones centered around this website. One example of such an IT issue is upgrading this phpBB software installation from version xx.3 to xx.5 (so, two iterations of upgrades -- leapt at once). The site may be unavailable during this period, for some time, until the service is restored. Thank you for your patience.

I've just now upgraded two newly created accounts. The usernames used for these accounts, don't comply with the objective rule (in red text at the top of every screen), that usernames should be a person's real name. But, oh well, this can be tinkered later: We're glad for any/all particiaption at this point.

So, I've just posted the first version of the notice for tomorrow's Women in 3D Printing event, on the SME.org website. HOWEVER, I've gotta produce another version of the graphic, which is being cropped awkwardly.

Thanks for posting the Women in 3D Printing event. To find out more about this event, check https://womenin3dprinting.com/eventbrit ... o-chapter/

Phew, I've just now fixed the photo for the event of 'Women in 3D Printing' with Prof. Mihaela Vlasea. That graphics job was tricky, because of spacing, I had to devise the last three letters in 'Waterloo' in white text on the background of Mihaela's black jacket. Visit the chapter website to see what I mean.

    Heya Vesna! :ugeek:
  • sme26Wed Apr 17, 2019 3:48 pm
BTW, it is entirely in the realm of doability, for us to have custom emojis here. We could be uber geeky and devise tech-related emojis, which may become popularized (in which case, people will say our emoji went viral, and we'd get that credit/notice/attention). Think on it.... :ugeek:

Ok, I'm going to do something I should have done long ago: The Twitter integration with the front-end (WordPress side). This should be done in a few minutes. Watch this space...
  • sme26Wed Apr 17, 2019 4:16 pm
Woo, hoo! That Twitter integration worked-out just fine. It's live now.
  • JennyOSWed Apr 17, 2019 9:39 pm
Fun stuff, Ravi!! Congrats on getting this set up.

OK everyone, let's hope this site doesn't go down: Some "big business" behind the scenes is about to happen, and it may result in this website going offline. Worse case scenario: I'll have to rebuild it from scratch; which means a certain amount of content loss; but things will be back to normal before too soon. It has to do with hosting problems, specifically, DNS propagation errors that seem built-into the server "account" underneath this website.
